I hated the first single off LCD Soundsystem’s new album. “Drunk Girls” is an annoying track that left me completely lacking in curiosity about the the rest of the album. I wouldn’t put it past James Murphy to have done that intentionally… cheeky little devil that he is. But upon listening to the [...] I am surprised it took this long for me to find Heyoka. Dubstep can be too dark and aggressive for my tastes, but artists like Heyoka, Bluetech and others are hitting the sweet spot with music that is head knodding, atmospheric/psychedelic and danceable at the same time. The mixture of dub, hip hop and [...] A casual stroll through Beatport’s top downloads in each genre turned up something peculiar. In the “Chill Out” section, 6 of the top 10 downloads were the same artist from the same album. That doesn’t happen too often – must be a glitch.
